Frozen
Thursday, AM - When I woke up today, my weather app indicated it was 5*F, or -15*C and we had an alert for freezing fog. I looked out the window and it looked surreal, with frost coating all of the trees and shrubs and most surfaces. I decided I'd drive to the waterfalls about 6 miles away to take some photos, but as I got a couple of miles from home, there was hardly any frost and the sun was shining through. I realized this was a very localized phenomena, so I turned around and went back to my frozen home. I took a walk down to the lake, but it became clear that my phone camera could not do justice to what I was seeing, so I put the phone away and just decided to take a full 4 mile walk and enjoy the beauty. Ice crystals on bittersweet. Was this deer wondering why I was taking a walk in these freezing temps? It's been so cold that ice rinks have been shoveled on the lake.
