The Years To Remember

 July 7  I was going to look up all the details of this excursion, when I decided to just copy and paste, then add my pictures. Here it is: Mount Pilatus - After a leisurely cruise on crystal-clear Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad ascend by the steepest rack railway in the world (48 degree incline) to Pilatus Kulm, 7000ft high. On top you have time to walk up to the vista point and to admire the breath taking panorama over the Swiss Alps and Lucerne.  July 3 - 6,    My dear friend, AJ, treated me to a mani/pedi along with a lovely afternoon enjoying the sights and sounds of June Farms in the bucolic countryside of North Greenbush. We enjoyed lots of laughter, photo ops and lunch on one of the loveliest weather days we've had.  I packed up all day Monday, July 4th and tried not to obsess too much about what to bring. I promised myself not to bring too much.  On the 5th I picked up a couple I've never met before and we headed to my friends Dale and Dan's house. We were joined by one more couple - Curt and Mary Elizabeth, before a private van drove us to Newark Airport in NJ. I should have known this would be a luxury trip when George convinced me to fly business class for the first time in my life. I have flown long overnight flights in economy and its no fun at all, so I decided Why Not?  Well, we got to go into the priority line to check our bags which took no more than two minutes, then we were directe...

 I left home on Sunday and drove the 3.5 hours to Corning to spend a bit of time with my mother. Youngest sister and family are off in Mexico, oldest brother and sister in law are off in Italy, leaving one sister and one brother in town but he's working. So, I decided to keep mom company, make sure she has groceries and give her house a good cleaning. Of course there have been many games of Scrabble and Dominoes and drives in the country.  I agreed to take care of Ash and Agnes for my sister even though I'm highly allergic to cats. They are sweet animals though, so I didn't mind visiting them each day, along with the fish, and tending to the plants. Agnes Ash We had a nice dinner out with my brother and a drive up into the Finger Lakes to shop at Oak Hill and Windy Acres and Peaches and Cream for ice cream.
