A Week With Mom
I left home on Sunday and drove the 3.5 hours to Corning to spend a bit of time with my mother. Youngest sister and family are off in Mexico, oldest brother and sister in law are off in Italy, leaving one sister and one brother in town but he's working. So, I decided to keep mom company, make sure she has groceries and give her house a good cleaning. Of course there have been many games of Scrabble and Dominoes and drives in the country.
I agreed to take care of Ash and Agnes for my sister even though I'm highly allergic to cats. They are sweet animals though, so I didn't mind visiting them each day, along with the fish, and tending to the plants.
I went on a 20 mile bike ride up the Cohocton River to Campbell and back the other side. I realized the two word descriptive names that so many of the little villages have around here. There is Riverside, Painted Post, Coopers Plains, and Curtis Hollow; not to mention Horseheads, Big Flats, Beaver Dams, Watkins Glen, and Erwin Hollow. There is a lot of history which I never paid attention to while growing up here. Why would I?
Gorgeous weather and my favorite bike.
I'll head home on Saturday to pack up and get set for my trip to Switzerland for 4 days, a 7 day Rhine River cruise, then a final 3 days in Amsterdam. I'm so excited!
EDIT: I'm back home and took a walk in the neighborhood and got a few shots of the sunset.
I lined the sun up in the power lines.

How wonderful of you to help out your mom and your sister. Those cats are gorgeous! I love gray cats. It looks like the weather has been perfect. I much enjoyed the time I spent in Switzerland and Amsterdam. I went on a brief Rhine River cruise which was lovely. I hope you have a fabulous trip!
