Was this my last time kayaking on the local lake down the hill?
With the Autumn Equinox, the weather went from sunny 80 degree days to 60's with clouds and rain. I'm not complaining, just observing. I do better at these temps, just adjusting the wardrobe takes a little time.
I've been paying close attention to details on my walks and took some photos.

I've seen quite a few of these crawling around, a red humped oakworm caterpillar.

I like the texture of these (burdock)?

Pretty purple wildflower.

These tiny weed flowers were no bigger than a pea.
I went to dinner with a few friends to discuss the reshaping of the adventure book club that Peggy started. Our next read is God Of The Woods: A Novel by Liz Moore. It is set in the Adirondacks and by a somewhat local author so I'm hoping it will be a good read. I'm just finishing up our last pick, Great Circle, by Maggie Shipstead which came highly recommended by the bookstore owner. It is good, but long.

I spent all of yesterday in the yard as it was sunny and warm and bad weather was coming. I cut back many spent plants as I'm getting ready to move them. The butterfly bush, hibiscus, and a few others need better locations.

Some of the favorites are still flowering profusely though.

This squirrel has been very busy storing and eating food all over the yard.

Honey bees are still visiting the garden too.
I made dinner for a few friends this weekend and it was loads of fun. They brought champagne to christen the spa with and we all enjoyed the dip.
I've got a couple of wasp nests to get rid of once we have a freeze. That seems so far away, but based on today's temperature - not too far. I got a taste of inclement weather with rain and wind today, so I tested out the spa in the afternoon. It was sublime - it will definitely make me happy to be outside, but still warm, this winter.
What fun to use your spa! Your weather mirrors ours: 80 to 60s and rainy. I like the change though. :) You take the BEST photos!
