Slow Week in October

Its been quiet for me this week, to match my mood. I could say I've gotten much work done on the house, but I really haven't. I went on a woods walk with the hiking group, but the pace was painfully slow. I sent up the drone to  check out the view, but it was unremarkable.

I did go out on the lake one beautiful, calm morning and practiced flying the drone while kayaking. It was successful, but I need to buy a neck strap for the controller so I don't accidentally drop it in the lake. I was very nervous navigating both the drone and the kayak, but proved to myself it could be done!

I spent a good deal of time this week meeting with Ken the builder about my upcoming master bath renovation. We worked out the bathroom layout, then I went to pick out tile for the project. This is what I came up with. It is ceramic tile, to keep costs down, except for the accent strip which is marble. I can't wait for an updated, walk in shower, modern featured, bathroom.

I missed out on a very challenging hike because I was hit with a bout of vertigo in the middle of the night. I was spinning so badly that I was nauseous, sweating, and in distress. It passed after a couple of hours, but there was no way I was going to hike. Instead I stayed home and built a stand for the grow light in my salad garden.
I built the light stand out of scrap wood. I probably need another light, but I'll have to grow a lot of salad before I break even on the cost of this project.

Sunday I went to a brunch fundraiser at June Farms, just down the road, to support the Albany Symphony Orchestra. Susan invited me to attend with a few of her friends. It was a lovely day on the farm.

  1. Vertigo is SO nasty! I had that one bout of it then a few times when I thought it was coming back. Now I'm paranoid about it. Down times are normal; I've had that kind of week too. I love what you've chosen (our tastes are similar); make sure to take lots of before, during and after photos!
