Lake And Garden
On my walk around the lake I usually stop at the stream to look at the fish, but this day the snapping turtle was swimming by. Going by its size, this may be the same turtle I've been watching for years. I conservatively estimate it was more than 2 feet long from nose to tail, but probably longer.

The next evening, I hopped in my kayak and had my first paddle of the year. The carp are spawning and the birds are feeding so it was quite nice to enjoy all the nature.

I got to try out the Wave Launch and approve. I love not having to get my feet wet when I kayak.
Last weekend my sisters came for a visit and we spent a lot of time just chatting and enjoying my garden. We did go to the Troy Farmers Market and they were amazed at its size and ALL THE FOOD. Then to work that off we headed over to the Barberville Falls trail and walked a bit.

The falls are always beautiful. I tried focusing on the foreground to get this shot.
Not much in the way of adventures are happening. My yard and garden are keeping me very busy. I'm clearing out some overgrowth in the far corner of the yard that has been neglected for 25 years. My arms and legs are showing the cuts and scrapes of that. I'm planning on having a privacy fence installed so I needed to find the property line. Many of the perennials in the garden need separating, so that is an ongong process, along with spreading 20 bags of mulch. It is my happy place though and well worth the effort.

It took 3 years for this iris to reach a spectacular showing.

It looks beautiful there; I'm intrigued by the Wave Launch. I'd like to kayak more but only on calm lakes. Puget Sound is too choppy and would terrify me. You have been busy and working out in the garden/yard! I've been doing a few things too--which always feels good. That iris, MUST HAVE! That's one of my favorite colors.
