Little Jobs Everywhere
The craziness coming out of Washington DC is incredibly disheartening so I've been working on tasks at home to keep me busy, distract me, or plan for my exit from this country. My new passport with my new name comes tomorrow assuming the Post Office can manage that without losing it. 🤞

| The plaster around the rain shower head failed and was crumbling apart. I scraped off the loose stuff and have just applied the second coat of plaster. Then I will sand it, paint it, and be done. |

My broken molar tooth was attended to Wednesday in a 2.5 hour dental torture session. The first shot of novocaine wasn't enough as I nearly jumped to the ceiling as the drilling started. Another shot was administered, then the real drilling began, way back at the hinge of my jaw. The corner of my mouth is still raw from being prised open and multiple tools repeatedly shoved in there. Another crown was dislodged in the process which meant more time in the chair as it had to be reattached. My dentist apologised profusely, and the office called the next morning to make sure I was okay. It's no wonder I have dental anxiety and probably PTSD now. I skipped dinner completely as I needed the pain in my mouth to resolve before eating anything.
Last weekend's somber hike made the Dept of Environmental Conservation Weekly Report:
My hiking friend Jim was released from hospital the next day but when he texted me, indicated that he would be laying low for awhile while he heals. Hiking is such a huge part of his life, so I'm sure we'll be helping him out until he's ready to hike again.
The wind is whipping as fronts pass by, and we have another snowstorm set to arrive tomorrow. I am running out of house projects to keep me busy and may be buying some orchids or other flowers just to add some color and keep me sane during this freezing cold and inhospitable winter. Looking at the pictures I posted here, they mirror the outside - shades of gray, black, and white.

As always, I'm amazed by all the projects you can do and how professional they look. I could probably figure how to do some of them, but they would appear to be done by Mari! LOL The insanity is making me crazy too--so I've been finding more Nordic noir mysteries to watch. For some reason, I find murder soothing right now. I'm glad Jim is OK--what a scary event!
ReplyDeleteYou could certainly do them! I do have to work up the motivation to tackle them, because they are not my idea of fun. It feels good to check them off the ever growing list of home maintenance chores.
