I'm not religious but this is a cultural/family time, so why not? Thursday night was an Easter Egg decorating session with dinner. Patty hosts a Sunday Easter family dinner and they have a tradition of playing King Egg. So she hosted a few girlfriends for a dinner to decorate 70 eggs for the game.We were happy to get crafty to help and get tutored in the game of King Egg.

Right now I'm boiling some baby potatoes for tonight's dinner with my old work pals. Janice wants to pretend its summer so we're having burgers and I'm making French Potato Salad. I'm also making an effort to enjoy and savor the down times of my life, and not focus on events so much. Today I'm not going to rush through preparations for tonight, but rather savor my time at home in the garden, calling mom, just going about the days activities. It's all my life, not just time getting ready for the next thing.
I notice that my eyes are suddenly extremely itchy, so I guess The Pollening is here.
A full week later -
I spent last weekend in Corning, hosting a casual Easter dinner with mom and 3 siblings and family. It was a nice weekend. Then I stayed to help mom host her card game on Tuesday. She was so pleased to have it, as its the only social activity she has left outside of family. It was quite a sight to see the six 85+ ladies at the table, laughing and having a great time together.
 |
| We opted for a purchased cake for cards since my baking fails have left me with low confidence. |
 |
| I walked quite a bit with my sister over the weekend. The church and school I attended as a child are both ready to be torn down. |
 |
| Just some random steps I discovered on a walk in my hometown. |
Meanwhile, back at home I've been busy.
 |
| One of 2 unpainted bathroom doors with dated fixtures. I'm still waiting on the glass shower walls and vanity to complete the renovation. |
 |
| The color is really charcoal grey, not black, and I've replaced all the hardware with brushed nickel. |
The latter part of the week I've spent painting and making my bedroom more functional. And yard work. I had a surprisingly good time last night by learning to line dance at a friends house. We had a cookout first then danced with a local instructor in the driveway. It was a hoot!

| My very promising garlic crop. |
What a lot of fun you've been having! What is French potato salad? Hopefully it doesn't have any escargots in it. We are still in the 30s at night and 50s during the day. But we are getting some sunny days amongst the rainy ones.
