Good Deeds

The full moon had a pretty halo around it tonight.

The first of May had me driving west to spend a few days with family. I busied myself running errands for mom on Monday - buying new towels and other household items. Tuesday I power washed my sister and brother in law's deck on their new old house. I took a few photos of the work in progressed because it made such a difference.

It was gratifying to get the moss off the bricks.

These bricks are 50 yrs old so hard to get back to original condition.

Quite a difference.

One last corner to clean. I left my power washer with them because its going to need another going over before they stain it. My power washing jobs will have to wait a few weeks.

I managed to check out the Habitat for Humanity Restore - my favorite thrift shop where I found a Pyrex leftover dish. I'm in the process of banishing plastic from the house and my life, so glass is my preferred alternative.

I drove home Wednesday so I could make it to my Line Dancing lesson which was loads of fun. Today was again wet, cool, and dreary so I caught up on laundry, and painted the last of the upstairs doors - there were eight of them! I can now install hinges, hang a door, and replace the handles in about 10 minutes. So now I have my sights on a few outdated door handles downstairs. I managed to get outside to mow a bit and prune a few more shrubs. I still haven't planted the greens seeds I bought last week. Maybe tomorrow...

Another task complete!
Modern handles.

  1. Your power washing skills are amazing; that's beautiful wood. My deck is cedar and not that pretty. Your house looks so beautiful and you are a whirlwind of activity. I did get my lawn mowed and a lot of weeding done but it's never ending this time of year. And much more is left!

  2. My Mom was surprised and laughed when I told her I was the most laid back one of my friends. She said I never stop moving and getting things done!
