Slowly But Surely, Things Get Done

It is almost 3 weeks since I decided to do something about my "extra winter fluff" and get back on Noom. I have dropped 4 lbs which is very slow progress. But it is progress in the right direction so I''l take that, and I'm going to keep it up. My indoor greens garden has reached a point where it provides enough for a salad every night for dinner. I alternate between Southwest chicken, or Thai Salmon salad, or just a grain bowl with brown rice and veg. It has been a very long time since I've indulged in pasta.
On our hike in Moreau State Park Monday, we all agreed we are tired of gaining and losing the same 10 pounds over and over again. Maintenance is not an easy thing for any of us. The weather was just perfect for hiking. Upper 60's and just enough of a breeze to keep the bugs from feeding off of us too much. It is fun to watch the woods come alive in the spring.

We started at the Bonita Lake trail head and followed the green trail to the north end of the lake, then the yellow trail up to the Western Ridge trail to the Spring Overlook. From there we headed down the purple Lake Ann trail back to Bonita Lake. It took us 4.5 hrs including our lunch stop and a few minutes to gander at what I thought might be a hiker with flesh colored shorts. Nope. It was a naked hiker. Completely buck naked. "He did have cute buns," I observed as we continued on our way.
The glass guys came very early Tuesday morning to replace the largest chipped panel of the shower wall and finally seal all the joints. Another 24 hours for it to cure and it will be done. Again.
I'm going to do a 20 mile solo bike ride because I just don't want to go through the logistics of texting, agreeing on where, and when to ride. Just a quick 2 hours before traffic gets going for the afternoon.
Later - I just finished a one hour and 45 minute ride of 20 miles on the Rail Trail. I did the math and I have to increase my monthly biking to 100 miles if I want to reach 1000 miles. Well, OK then. A late afternoon sit in the garden with a glass of Riesling completed my day. Retirement is sublime.
I had plans for Wednesday, but I got side tracked by a project. This footrest for an Adirondack chair that broke nearly 30 years ago has been sitting in one garage or shed that whole time. I've almost thrown it out several times, but I always thought it would make a nice garden table. I came across it in the shed this morning and decided today was the day. I washed it, found some wood that could be used as legs, got out the circular saw, the drill, and the sander and turned it into a plant stand/table.

The day ended with another Line Dancing class and neighbor/friend Annette joined the group this time.
