The rest of November
November 18 - 30, 2021
With the forecast predicting one more day of 60+ degrees, I was determined to get a bike ride in. AJ and I decided on the Ashuwilticook trail over in Cheshire MA. It was a glorious fall day and we rode by the reservoir, through the woods and then the town of Adams MA. It's 12.7 mile trail and we did it so quickly, that I suggested we keep going on the roads to North Adams. In order to stay off busy Rt 7, we took a back road UP A HILL. It wasn't too bad, but I could see the very flat Rt. 7 below us and hoped to convince AJ to take it back. We had lunch at the Freight Yard Pub and it was delicious!
The reservoir
Then we hopped on our bikes for the return trip which added 10 miles to the 24 of the trail. Well, the wind was against us, but we took the flat Rt 7 which was busy, but had a very wide bike lane/shoulder. By the time we made it back to the trail, it was getting windy, our butts were sore, and the sun was sure heading down towards the horizon quickly! We made it back by 3:30, but by the time we drove back home, it was fully dark. I really don't like these short daylight hours!
Nov 22 - 26 20121 - Thanksgiving Week
This week I delivered my Mom's Christmas present, which was to paint her living room so that her new furniture would not clash with the walls. It took the greater part of three days to get it done-ish, but I did a really nice job.
We went to Carol and Clive's house for an absolutely delicious Thanksgiving feast. I just can't get enough of turkey, stuffing, and gravy! But, I took no pictures. 😞 I'm still getting used to this blog thing, so I'm trying to remember that photos are my documentation!
I had an almost uneventful drive home on the 26th, but about 25 miles out the rain turned to snow. Not a big problem as it wasn't really sticking, but with each passing mile the snow intensified and started to stick. By the time I reached the East side of the Hudson, the road was covered and I still had 3 miles to go up a few hills. Some cars were off the road, but I slipped and slid safely into the garage. It was pretty!
