I slept for a very long time Friday morning and spent the day just unpacking, doing laundry, and relaxing. The garden is a bit of a nightmare as it rained quite a bit and things grew!
Not to be idle for too long, I headed up to SPAC with a group of friends to see the Tedeshi Trucks concert.
I had never heard of them before, but enjoying music on the lawn with friends is growing to be a favorite activity of mine. They surprised me with cupcakes for my birthday which was so sweet.

Happy birthday to me!
 | Ziggy Marley was the opening act. His music was much preferred to Tedeshi Trucks which gave me a headache and I had to leave a bit early.

Two days later, I headed off to Corning to visit with Mom and family. I didn't get to see the fireworks on the 4th because I was just too tired. Many games of Scrabble, walks with my sister, shopping and chores for Mom filled the four days I stayed. Mom gets more and more frail each time I visit. I feel like the time to get some in-house help is now, so I will broach that on my next visit in three weeks.

I got home and felt compelled to get some bike miles in, so I set off on the Electric trail with the goal of 30 miles. All was pleasant and rather easy for 25 of those miles. The last five were fine, but most of me grew sore and fatigued and I wished I had opted for a 25 mile ride. I needed a nap when I got home.
Susan asked if I wanted to go to Tanglewood over in Lenox, MA for the opening night of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Of course I did. What a pleasant experience - much more laid back and civilized than the Saratoga situation. It was such a pleasant evening!

The lawn seating featured some very elaborate picnics along with simple ones like ours.

That's a glorious sunset. We have concerts in the park here too but I've never gone. Crowds! Ziggy Marley is much more well-known than the people and bands that play in my smallish town.
