July 11, 2022 Strasbourg France

I awoke to the ship arriving in Strasbourg, and decided to join my friends for the morning yoga session. It was a nice way to start the day. The ship offered a tour of the town so I opted to join everyone else for a very dull bus ride around the little town, then a boring walk to the big cathedral in the town center. That was quite nice, but the plaza was your typical tourist trap selling all kinds of trinkets and gizmos. We opted for a quick ice cream and caught the first bus back to the ship.

I loved the flowers on the bridges.

The cathedral. I was in no mood for pictures as this is the only one I took there!?!

I only half listened to the guide who explained this building is meant to look unfinished even though it is.

We had a quick lunch, then Steve and I headed out for a bike ride into town. He and George wanted to pay homage to their grandfather who used to meet a young lady on a bench near the river to eat pastries and visit. So we scouted out an appropriate bench and then Tom and George joined us and they had a little brother time reminiscing.

We continued to bike around past an amusement park, the river, and eventually into a big garden area. After a couple of hours we headed back to the ship for the usual nightly routine - drinks, dinner, drinks, bed.

  1. I've always wanted to visit Strasbourg and am disappointed that it's such a touristy city. It does look beautiful though, minus that building that's supposed to look unfinished. I'm not a fan.
